MEETINGS:
All of our meetings are free of charge and open to the public. Our interesting, thought-provoking monthly programs are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Recently our programs included: Election Ballot Measures presented by the League of Women Voters; a presentation by OPB's Emily Harris, host of "Think Out Loud"; Women and Heart Disease; What Every Woman Should Know about Estate Planning; and Oregon's Sesquicentennial.
PROJECTS:
The branch actively supports the AAUW Educational Foundation (EF) and the AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund (LAF) by raising awareness and by fundraising.
We also offer a local PCC Scholarship and have several fundraisers for this project.
We have a Potato Feed to benefit LAF.
Our Public Policy Chair regularly reports to us about what is currently happening with legislation nationally and locally.
FUNDRAISING:
Tigard Area branch supports a scholarship for a woman attending Portland Community College.
Members also support the Legal Advocacy Fund and Educational Foundation.
Holiday Giving: Donations usually given to families in need.
