ABOUT US
Active since 1930 the Baker Branch has approximately 40 members from around the county. In that time, we have raised over $40,000 that we have given back to organizations and/or projects serving women and children in Baker County. Our legacy of leadership: 77 yrs. AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research.
MEETINGS
We usually meet on the second Monday of September, October and November and the second Saturday of December, January, February and March. June meeting - TBA. Our program chairs consistently develop quality programs each year.
Contributions/Supports
Women's Celebration 2008 Grant Awards: PAPA - Parents Association for the Performing Arts Baker High School (based on financial needs - $5oo
Mutual Improvement Club of Haines, Oregon (Summer Reading Program for Children - to be established) - $5oo
SOS - School Site One Stop - (100% of grant funds go toward activities, transportation, clothing or equipment for approximately 300 children involved in Summer Fun Program.) - $500
Cornucopia Art Council, Art Camp - $400
Calling on Moms, Baker County - $250
First Book - $200
Cornucopia Art Council: Children's Theater - $150
$2,500 was given out in grant awards.
