Astoria AAUW, founded in 1927, welcomes all women (and men!) -- college graduates or not -- who share AAUW goals. AAUW promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. Our 30 members are from Astoria, Warrenton, and the surrounding areas.
MEETINGS
Our regular meeting time is the third Wednesday of each month, 7 p.m., in The Flag Room of Astoria Public Library, 11th and Duane in downtown Astoria, except during the summer when we do not meet.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Astoria Branch collaborates with Clatsop Community College, Seaside AAUW, and other groups to enrich our communities by
- Hosting the annual WINGS Conference (Women INterested in Going to School)
- Sponsoring candidate and issue forums
- Developing programs and panels on vital issues
FUND-RAISING AND AWARDS
The branch produces an annual Readers’ Theater event in order to award area scholarships and support AAUW Educational Foundation. Each year one or two Outstanding Women Graduates of Clatsop Community College receive awards to continue their educations.
