Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How do I access the Member Center area of the state website?

For that information, check the last page of your Oregon News state newsletter. The User Name (first box) and Password (second box) are listed there. Type those into the Member Center box on the Home page of this website. (All members use the same simple code.)

  2. What is in the Member Center area of the website? That area contains the forms, documents, bylaws, position descriptions--all the things that would interest members, but not necessarily be of interest to the general public.

  3. Who is eligible for membership?

Since we are an organization begun by and for and university/college graduates, there is a membership eligibility requirement of an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university. Alternately, a student affiliate membership is available for those that are enrolled in an accredited college or university. We value and seek a diverse membership. There are no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.
  4. What are your goals and missions?

AAUW of Oregon promotes advocacy, takes action to empower women and girls, and connects the Association with branch members. AAUW (National) promotes equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.

  5. Where do you meet?

All over Oregon. Our most frequent meetings are held at the branches. Most branches meet at least monthly and their activities vary. Please use our Branch Locator button to find the branch Web site or summary page for the branch nearest  you.  On those pages, you will learn more about the activities of your local branch. See more details on our Join or Membership pages.
